A Night Out in London is the fourth episode of Series 2 of The Inbetweeners. It first aired on April 23, 2009 on E4.
Synopsis[]
Will decides that the lads should be cool, and become 'the boys who go to clubs'. They head to the West End, and meet aggressive bouncers, tramps and angry bus passengers.

The episode begins with Jay showing the boys a pornographic video containing scenes of eating faeces and vomit, which they react to in disgust. Will decides the boys need to lose their "saddo" tag and that they should go clubbing in London to kick-start this "new life." Jay and Neil both warm to the idea, but Simon is reluctant to go, stating that his dad will kill him if he drives down to London. He is later persuaded to go after Neil says he has got a car and will happily drive the foursome down to the capital, as well as Carli telling him that she and her friend Rachel will also be going on the same night.
As the boys prepare for the night out, Simon is informed that he will have to drive seeing as Neil's car has not got an engine yet. Still excited by the prospect of going to the same club as Carli, he agrees to drive. When the boys arrive in London, however, things begin to go a little pear-shaped. Simon is attacked by some men from a nearby bus stop after Jay decides to lean his head out of the window and insult them by screaming "bus wankers" as they drive past; only for them to get stuck in a queue of traffic seconds later. Simon has to swap his new trainers for a mad tramp's urine-soaked shoes in order to get into the club. As Will and Neil walk off to find some girls, Will and Simon prepare for their "dates" with Rachel and Carli, respectively. The dates did not go well, with Rachel smitten by another man, Dean and Carli put off by Simon after smelling the urine from his shoes. After Neil is thrown out for "masturbating" in the toilets (he was actually inspecting the cut on his penis he received earlier whilst urinating into a beer can in Simon's car), the boys decide to call it a night, but on the way back to the car, they notice it has been clamped by an angry Chinese man who threatens them with a £200 penalty, on account of the fact that the car was blocking the door to the garage where his wholesaler’s work van was parked and being unable to carry out any deliveries scheduled that night.

Trivia[]
- For some reason, on the series 2 DVD, Carli says "we usually go to Club Opera" instead of the Astoria.
- This is possibly because the Astoria was closed down later in 2009 after the original airing of the episode, and "Club Opera" could be convincingly dubbed over the audio with the same lip movements.
- The video, Jay watches with the others at the start of the episode is called 2 Girls 1 Cup.
